After their sold-out London premiere at LSO St Luke’s in January 2024, trailblazing music collective Tangram tour their production Nature Echo around the UK.

Praised for the show’s “highly imaginative presentations and truly limitless virtuosity ” (I CARE IF YOU LISTEN), Nature Echo traces a journey navigating the fragile and destructive relationship between humans and our environment featuring guest director and performance artist Echo Morgan.

Bringing together contemporary music from across four continents, Tangram presents a powerful reflection on the global issue of climate change. Experience the visceral sounds of plastic alongside Chinese and Western instruments and evocations of disappearing whalesong and bioluminescence. They perform a special programme of music by Liza Lim, George Crumb, Chen Yi, Alex Ho and Sun Keting, brough to vivid life by Echo Morgan’s live action painting and design.

Tangram

Tangram is a London-based music collective transcending the China-West divide. They create and curate ambitious, multi-disciplinary and culturally-curious productions. Co-directed by Alex Ho and Sun Keting, they are Associate Artists at LSO St Luke’s 2022-25.

Made up of researchers, composers and performers of Chinese and western instruments, Tangram launched in 2019 as recipients of the Chinese Arts Now Artist Development Bursary and winners of Nonclassical’s Battle of the Bands. They have worked with the London Symphony Orchestra, Silk Road Ensemble, New Earth Theatre, and were Associate Ensemble at SOAS University of London.

They were recipients of Jerwood Arts’ inaugural Live Work Fund and Genesis Foundation’s Kickstarter Fund, and were shortlisted for the RPS Young Artist Award 2023.
