National Opera Studio: Last days

This event has passed.

The Young Artists of the National Opera Studio perform Last Days, devised and directed by Tim Albery, to mark the centenary of the end of World War I.

We are taken from the gaiety of pre-war Europe’s nightclubs into an apocalyptic vision of the War’s outbreak, towards increasingly stormy, raw or mournful songs and texts from Berg, Satie, E.E Cummings, Elgar, Butterworth and Gurney, among others.

Members of the Orchestra of Opera North and the next generation of operatic stars bring these powerful and affecting songs to new life in this special one-off performance.
