David Pipe performs Messiaen’s evocative nine-movement cycle telling the story of the birth of Christ.
Composed when Messiaen was only in his mid-twenties, this iconic work depicts the shepherds, angels and wise men, before concluding with the dramatic ‘Dieu parmi nous’ toccata.
