Can’t stop thinking about @Opera_North‘s production of The Greek Passion. It’s so good. And so relevant. I want to go again.

Musically eclectic. Visually arresting. Thematically timely. Important, responsible, choice for @Opera_North to stage a work that promotes outward looking humanity. And denounces hierarchically entrenched xenophobia. #ONGreekPassion

Huge congratulations @Opera_North for bring Martinu’s The Greek Passion to the stage at a time when its themes have such relevance. A superb production with conductor, orchestra, soloists and chorus totally on point #ONGreekPassion

Thought @Opera_North #ONGreekPassion was very moving indeed. As the lights went out for half-time, a single word hung in the air, uttered by someone else further down by row: “Wow”. I think that summed it up well.

Incredible night @Opera_North last night for the premiere of Martinu The Greek Passion. Wonderfully relevant and moving production with a brilliant cast including the fantastic Paul Nilon, Jeffery Lloyd Roberts and @nickythespence

@Opera_North Greek Passion is magnificent musically, visually and dramatically. If I'd paid the cost of all 6 this season just to see this one, I'd feel I'd had my money's worth. Games of Mary in Litomysl CZ in July and now this show Martinu to be a genius of the operatic stage.

This was so moving and relevant to what's happening today. Congratulations on choosing #ONGreekPassion in the first place and then bringing it to us so brilliantly

Have had a wonderful evening at #ONGreekPassion such a moving production, first class. A village gripped by intolerance, greed and fear. A situation made much worse by those in power. Well done @Opera_North for this story of our time that needs to be told again and again.

Just out of @Opera_North production of Martinu’s Greek Passion #ONGreekPassion. Stunning performances and a highly-charged staging. If ever an opera were relevant to British society right now, this is it.

Ooft. @Opera_North’s Greek Passion is good. Lush from @nickythespence, @jsavournin once again proving to be a wonderfully versatile performer, and exhilarating sounds from the chorus. An important piece that is very much worth experiencing.
