The announcement on Saturday 31 October of new national Covid-19 measures that will come into effect from Thursday 5 November will impact Opera North’s planned activity over the coming weeks.
This includes our scheduled Handel / Weill double bill of Acis & Galatea and The Seven Deadly Sins at Leeds Playhouse, the tour of Whistle Stop Opera: Cinderella, concerts planned for Leeds Town Hall including early performances of Fidelio, and outdoor performances of La petite bohème and As You Are.
We are assessing government guidance and working to reschedule where we can. We will contact bookers as soon as we can, but assure all our audiences they will be able to either move their booking to an alternative date or receive a full refund. We ask for patience at this time as our Box Office team, and those of our partner venues, will be extremely busy, but rest assured we will be in contact.
Opera North’s core purpose is to use music and opera to create extraordinary experiences for everyone. We have delivered against this commitment throughout 2020, and despite this latest setback will continue to do, sharing music in any form we can.
