As a result of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis and the government’s advice regarding social gatherings and live performance, we are very sorry to announce the postponement of our Autumn 2020 and Winter 2021 seasons. Ticket holders will be contacted directly. Read the full statement or read on for more information.

Please note, due to the COVID-19 crisis many Box Offices have reduced teams and are not currently accepting calls.

If you are waiting for a refund, thank you so much for your patience and understanding – you will be contacted but it may take a number of weeks.

If you have an urgent enquiry, please use email if possible. Venue details are available on our contact us page. For the latest information, check the venue website, Facebook or Twitter account.

What is your refund policy?

If a performance is cancelled, bookers are eligible for a full refund. You may be offered alternative options including credit on your account for a future purchase, gift vouchers, making a donation or supporting the organisation by, for example, becoming a member.

COVID-19 refund policy: for Opera North performances in Leeds, if you are instructed to self-isolate over the period of a booked performance, tickets can be exchanged to a future performance. Alternatively we will credit your account for a future purchase – credit can be used within 24 months. If these options are not possible, we will refund your tickets.

How long will it take for me to receive my refund?

You may not be contacted for a number of weeks, as Box Offices are working with reduced teams and have a backlog of cancelled events. Some venues are prioritising refunds in order of performance date and may still be working through summer performance refunds.

To prevent any unnecessary delay, if you are able to, log in to your account with the venue and check that your daytime phone number is current.

How will I be refunded?

All purchasers will be contacted by the relevant Box Office with details. As a general guide, if you made your payment by bank card, your card will be refunded. If your payment card details have changed, the Box Office will get in touch with you – there is no need to contact them. If you paid in cash, by cheque or using Theatre Tokens, or if you’re paying by Direct Debit, the Box Office may refund via bank transfer. They will contact you to arrange this. Bank transfers may take 2 weeks to process.

Who do I contact with a query about my refund?

Check the latest information and FAQs with the venue website where you paid for your tickets/activity. If you still need to contact the Box Office with a query, send an email in the first instance – find venue links on our contact us page. For bookings through Opera North, or for enquiries about any of our performances, email boxoffice@operanorth.co.uk. The Opera North phone lines are likely to be very busy, but if you’re unable to email, call 0113 223 3600 (Mon-Fri 10am to 6pm) where there is an option to leave a message.

My details have changed. How can I tell the Box Office?

If your contact details have changed, these can be updated by logging in to your account, or you can email the venue – details on our contact us page. If your payment card has expired or your bank details have changed, the Box Office will contact you.

If the postponed performances are part of a package deal, what happens to my discount?

Opera North package prices will be honoured for remaining tickets, even if the discount would no longer apply.

I’m paying by Direct Debit. What is happening with my payments?

The Opera North Box Office team will call you to explain your refund options.

Are you still taking bookings for other performances?

Check our What’s on page for details of our events currently on sale. If you’re unable to book online, email boxoffice@operanorth.co.uk or leave a message on 0113 223 3600 and we will contact you.

Will I get the chance to see these operas another time?

The good news is that productions will be rescheduled over the next two years and we will continue to make live music and create extraordinary experiences, every day, for and with the communities we serve. Check our website or follow us on Facebook or Twitter for all the latest news.

How can I support you?

In these uncertain times we welcome your support more than ever, whether it be as simple as joining our email list, getting closer to the company by becoming a Friend or Patron, making a donation or buying tickets for performances. Thank you for standing by us.
