On 15 November 1978, Opera North gave its very first performance as we opened Saint-Saëns’ Samson et Dalila at Leeds Grand Theatre. As we prepare to celebrate 45 years of creating extraordinary experiences, we are delighted to announce a charity auction to support our work on stage and in the community.

From two top tickets to the Wimbledon 2024 Ladies’ Semi Final, to delicious food and drink gifts, and a range of bespoke operatic experiences and exclusive pieces of Opera North history, the auction includes a fantastic range of prizes for everyone to enjoy.

Choose from Opera North exclusives including singing and instrumental lessons with members of the Orchestra and Chorus, an exclusive chef’s table evening in Kino, an eye-catching kimono from our iconic production of Madama Butterfly, and the chance to take to the podium and conduct a rehearsal with the Orchestra of Opera North.

All the money raised in the auction will go directly support our world-class work on stage, in the classroom and in the community, and will ensure that we can continue creating extraordinary experiences for everyone for years to come.

The auction will close during Opera North’s 45th Anniversary Dinner on Wednesday 15 November. You don’t have to be attending the dinner to get involved – simply head to our auction page to explore the prizes and start bidding!
