This event has passed.

The four-time Grammy Award-winning pianist, composer and arranger returns to Leeds with his trio.

An original member of the world-renowned jazz adventurers Snarky Puppy, Laurance released his debut solo album, Flint, in 2014, followed shortly afterwards by Swift — both albums soaring up the jazz charts and receiving praise for their deft musicianship and emotive writing and arrangement.

2016 brought the release of his third solo effort, Aftersun — a rhythmic and funk-infused album featuring percussionist Weedie Braimah. This year he followed up his fourth studio album, the electronics-infused Cables, with the Cables Rewired EP, a collaboration with Manchester’s Untold Orchestra that brought orchestral arrangements to a selection of tracks from the 2019 record.

Recent years have also seen him branching into film music at the Sundance Composer Lab, writing his first full score for Cuban docudrama Un Traductor, and contributing to the documentary David Crosby: Remember My Name.

He returns to Leeds – where he graduated from the University’s School of Music – for this intimate trio show.
